As the NASCAR Xfinity Series competes in Mexico City for the first time since 2008, driver Connor Zilisch earned the pole position for Saturday’s The Chilango 150 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

Andres Perez de Lara Eager For Debut

NASCAR Craftsman Truck series rookie Andres Perez de Lara was slated to make his Xfinity Series debut Saturday.

Returning to his home country, Perez de Lara reached a deal in May to drive the No. 91 Chevrolet.

The first Mexican-born driver to claim an ARCA Menards Series championship, Perez de Lara, 20, ranks No. 17 in the Truck circuit’s drivers’ standings.
